It is our intention to fundraise for the pedestrian bridge from both individuals and corporate donors.
Community Fundraising Events
We plan to continue our fundraising events throughout 2019 in order to raise both awareness and money for the project.
Keep an eye on the News section for our next event.
Monday 14 Jan: The Quiz Night hosted by the Seven Stars in Winsley was sold out! An entertaining (if highly competitive!) evening. Many thanks to the Seven Stars for their donation of £200 to the Bridge@175 fund and to Cllr Richard Warren for donating the raffle prize of a day trip on one of his narrowboats – the raffle raised £111.
Saturday 3 Nov: Our Barn Dance in Winsley Village Hall with music from The Cartwheel Ceilidh band went with a swing. Thanks to all who worked hard preparing the food and the hall to make this a real community success.
Sunday 19 August: Our Jazz and Supper evening with the wonderful band This Side of Paris was a sell-out and much enjoyed by all who managed to get a ticket. Many thanks to Jill and Fitz for their generous hosting. We raised £380 from the event – another few inches of the bridge!
Sunday 24 June: The Concert and Curry evening with Stephen Marquiss on piano 6-10 pm
Pianist Stephen Marquiss was a musical and gastronomic feast. What a wonderful way to celebrate Midsummer!
Sunday 20th May: Cream teas at Judy’s was a great success. We were blessed with wonderful weather and 100 people tuned up to enjoy cream teas in Judy’s beautiful garden. We raised £336 from the event. A big thank you to Judy Spence for all her hard work. Much appreciated!
Look out for the article about the event in the Wiltshire Times on 25/5/18.
